Suggested days out from Glasgow and Edinburgh by train
Lying on the main railway line between Glasgow and Edinburgh, it’s naturally a popular place to live and a busy shopping centre with plenty of cafés and pubs. But its rich in history, a long standing home for past Kings of Scotland. Uninhabited since 1745, you can visit it today and wander around the rooms and chambers. Or you can take a stroll around Linlithgow Loch, or along the main street, taking in the fabulous St Michael’s parish church. An easy day out by train from Glasgow or Edinburgh.
